Wood Boats of Leelanau: A Photographic Journal
Now on display at the Leelanau County Government Center

Bringing Leelanau's maritime heritage to life with photos, hands-on exhibits, and video presentation. The exhibit is based on our full-color, 192 page, hard-bound book, Wood Boats of Leelanau by John Mitchell. Both the exhibit and the book delved deeply into the Society's historic photo archive to access a wealth of images. Society President (at the time of the exhibit) Mark Nesbitt noted that, "The Leelanau Historical Society is really enthusiastic about entering into the world of publishing with the production of Wood Boats of Leelanau. Bringing history to life in this way fits the Society's mission in a very exciting way."

Currently on display at the Leelanau County Government Center, located between Lake Leelanau and Suttons Bay, off M-22; 8527 E. Government Center Drive, Suttons Bay. The exhibit is displayed in the public spaces in the building. The public is welcome to view the exhibit Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
